Rake Race

A rake race is a competition amongst poker players who frequent the same poker room. The goal is to generate more rake than everyone else within a certain period. For example, if you sign up to Doyle’s room via our link, you are automatically included in a 35K rake race every single month! Aced Poker Comp Points are Awesome!

Aced Poker is one of the few rooms that actually managed to make player points useful and very valuable for poker players like you and me. This is actually one of the reasons why I feel Aced Poker is one of the most exciting poker rooms out there, even if it is fairly recent. The fact that they accept US players is also a plus.

The player points you acquire at Aced Poker are called “comp points” and they can be used in various ways, but I wanted to show you a real example of the incredible value Aced is giving their players with these points.

I’m going to compare aced poker with another unnamed poker room. What’s interesting is that both these rooms are on the same poker network, the merge gaming network. It doesn’t really matter if you play at Aced or at the other rooms, you’re playing o the same network against the same opponents but here’s why Aced is better than any room on the merge network. Below is a chart that shows satellite tickets you can purchase with your points. Notice that the cost to buy these tickets is drastically lower at Aced Poker, yet these are essentially “shared” satellites on the network. In other words, you can register to a $60 dollar satellite in exchange for 150,000 comp points from the unnamed room, or you can register to the exact same satellite at Aced for a fraction of the points, under 20,000 com points in fact!

Asian Poker Tour (APT) Manila – 2009

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) circuit is expanding and gaining a high profile. The APT Manila tournament has gained a reputation as one of most exciting poker destination in the world.

The APT first ran in May 2008 and the prize pool and the level of talent continues to reach new heights. The initial tournament boasted a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and attracted 315 talented poker players from all over the world. Australian poker pro David Saab made history when he won the first ever APT Manila event and took home $280,000.

The second event on the Asian Poker Tour circuit was staged in Macau in August 2008 with an inflated prize offering of $1,500,000. This event was won by Yevgeniy Timoshenko of the United States who claimed winnings of $500,000.
