Carbon Poker is part of the Merge Gaming Network which was formed in February 2007. The room is licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. The poker software used by Carbon Poker was acquired by the Merge Gaming Network following a merger with the poker.com network. This merger also provided a good traffic base which has increased since.

Carbon Poker offers the best poker software by far. You can even create your own private poker games or tournaments! It’s easy to use, easy to look at, provides interesting features such as the ability to tag players (fish, shark and others). It calculates and displays odds, has quick bet buttons which represent different multipliers of the big blind, pot size bets, all in bets. You have the choice to show just one card of your choice as oppose to both cards after winning when opponents folded, or when being the last person to fold. This is an extremely important feature that allows you to establish a table image and give out information that can later be exploited. They also have an interesting feature called Rabbit Hunt: when you win a hand before the river card is dealt, players have the option of clicking the 'Rabbit Hunt' button to see what cards were on the way. The software runs smoothly all the time. I’ve never personally experienced any issues with it.

There is a standard 5% rake which is collected in increments up to $3 depending on the stakes and number of players. For Backgammon, the rake is 3% with a rake cap at $1. Carbon Poker has a “no-flop, no-drop” policy which means there is no rake for hands that do not reach the flop.

Carbon Poker - Conclusion

Carbon Poker is my personal favorite poker room. The poker software is so well designed, it simply blows the competition away. Carbon Poker is big on freeroll promotions and on live poker tournament packages and they always offer interesting promotions. The traffic is average but outside of peak hours drops significantly. Rake is standard and funds transfer options are numerous.
