About Paradise PokerParadise Poker, established in 1999, is one of the true golden oldies of the online poker industry. Paradise Poker saw a good deal of traffic, staying on top of the industry through experience and dedication. However, the online poker room was entirely refurbished from the ground up, adopting Boss Media software when it switched over to the iPoker Network. Integrating the popular shared player base of iPoker, Paradise Poker now sees a much higher rate of traffic, keeping the action pumping across the tables at all hours. Paradise Poker does not accept US player deposits at this time. Paradise Poker SoftwareParadise Poker converted to Boss Media software, and the decision seems to have been a good one. Players at Pacific Poker are now privy to multi-lingual software, with multi-currency deposits and game play, strong stability and high functionality. However, the game pace can be a bit slow at times. Following the 'Pacific' theme, the graphics are ocean related and very clean. Searching and sorting through ring games and tournaments is easily done by clicking on the appropriate tabs. In-game features include note-taking and personal statistics, while the Poker Lobby provides all of the essential stats, like viewed-flop%, average pot size and hands played per hour. Pacific Poker allows players to participate in up to 5 simultaneous poker tables, though there is no mini-view function to suit multi-tabling. Windows PC users will be able to enjoy all of the features of Paradise Poker by downloading the poker client. Unfortunately, Paradise Poker has not come out with a no-download version, or a Mac compatible download. Paradise Poker GamesParadise Poker has an extensive game variety, some of which are fairly new to the online poker room since joining the SportingBet brand. Players will find Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo, 7 Card Stud and 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo, plus 5 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw, Blackjack and Soko. All Limits are found in variable games with heads-up, short-handed and full table action. Traffic is concentrated in Limit and No Limit Hold'em, but the high traffic rate ensures open tables in all game varieties at peak hours. Blinds start as low as $.05/$.10 ranging up into extremely high stakes of $500/$1,000. Paradise Poker PromotionsParadise Poker presents an array of Bonuses and Promotions to suit both new and veteran members of the online poker room.
Paradise Poker RakeParadise Poker follows the industry standard of 5% capped at $3 in ring game poker rake. Lower fixed limit games are often capped at a $1 rake. Paradise Poker TrafficParadise Poker is a member of the iPoker Network, taking full advantage of the shared player base. This results in very high traffic at peak hours, which equals soft competition at the lowest stake poker tables. The juiciest action is found in Hold'em and Omaha micro-limit games. As of April 2008, Paradise Poker averages peak hour real-money traffic of 3,300 in ring games and 13,000 in tournaments. Paradise Poker Withdraw/Deposit OptionsParadise Poker offers a good selection of payment methods, offering instant deposits and fast withdrawals through a number of convenient funding sources. Deposits - Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit, Maestro, Switch, NETeller, MoneyBookers, Click2Pay, DirectTeller, Money Gram, Bank Wire Transfer. Withdrawals - Visa, MasterCard (UK only), NETeller, MoneyBookers, Click2Pay, Bank Wire Transfer, Cheque, Cashier's Cheque. Paradise Poker SupportParadise Poker provides excellent customer service by telephone, email and live chat support. Assistance is fast and professional, with live chat being the quickest option, followed by a regional selection of toll-free telephone numbers. Email is of course slower, but also very reliable. ConclusionParadise Poker is one of the finer online poker rooms, offering a good selection of games, plenty of payment methods and top of the line security. The traffic rate is high enough to keep the action rolling in most limits and games types, with lots of soft competition in the lowest limits. PROS
